Realizing society’s growing awareness and need for alternative health care, Catherine was driven towards a holistic approach to wellness ~ massage therapy. Since 2008, she has been licensed as a Registered Massage Therapist in Ontario. Her expertise includes Swedish/Therapeutic, CranioSacral therapy, Manual Lymphatic/Decongestive therapy, myofascial release, rehabilitation, pregnancy, relaxation and Reiki. She creates a personalized treatment plan for each of her clients that will best lead them on their own individual journey towards optimum health, vitality, and wellness. She believes in a holistic and ‘whole person’ care approach.
CranioSacral therapy (CST) is her new passion and modality that can benefit EVERYONE ~ children, adults, and seniors! It is a light touch, whole-body treatment technique that works with the body’s craniosacral system to support and nourish the central nervous system – improving overall health and well-being. CST improves the body’s ability to self-care and can produce profound, positive changes.
Decongestive/Lymphatic (MLD) therapy is a highly specialized and gentle massage technique used to increase lymph flow and encourage the natural drainage of the lymph from the body tissues. MLD is a safe and effective approach to cleansing the body’s tissues. It is beneficial to healthy individuals, by having a detoxifying effect, and can be used to effectively treat a variety of different conditions: lymphedema, sinus/congestion/allergies, headaches, pain management, chronic stress, weakened immune systems, sports injuries, post-surgical healing, and scars.
Catherine has a special interest in cancer survivorship, with work experience in cancer rehabilitation, past volunteer and involvement with Breast Cancer Action (BCA), and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. As a Complete Decongestive Therapist, she can assist with lymphedema management and/or prevention, the increased swelling and lymph accumulation that occurs after a mastectomy, or other surgical procedures, especially those where lymph nodes may be removed or damaged.
As a Reiki Master, Catherine is a true believer that with positive and healing intention, attaining wholeness of Mind, Body and Spirit is possible. With Reiki, she gently balances life energies (chakras), to bring health and well being to her clients.
