Tracy Byrne, RSW
Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist
Tracy is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist specializing in perinatal mental health and trauma processing. She is a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International, a Level II Certified Complex Trauma Provider (CCTP-II), and is trained in Brainspotting Therapy.
Tracy has worked in the mental health field for over 15 years in various healthcare settings and now owns a private practice in Chatham-Kent, supporting clients in person locally and virtually across Ontario. Her own life experiences have deeply shaped her passion for trauma and perinatal mental health work. As a mom of two, she understands the challenges and complexities of motherhood, along with the profound identity shift that takes place. Having struggled following the births of her own children, Tracy is on a mission to eradicate the stigma surrounding perinatal mental health and ensure moms receive the support they desperately deserve so they no longer have to suffer in silence.
In addition, Tracy has a strong interest in how our family of origin and past wounds can shape us, and loves working with cycle breakers. She is passionate about doing the deep work to process our traumas, understand our triggers, unlearn harmful core beliefs and break generational cycles. Tracy understands that healing and growth are a process- often messy, never linear, but always worth it.
Whatever challenges you are navigating, Tracy is here to walk alongside you with warmth, compassion, non-judgemental support, and a dash of humour (because we all know laughing is therapeutic!)
Tracy holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Women’s Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit, and a Masters of Social Work degree from University of Windsor. She is in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and is a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. In addition to her psychotherapy work, she is also a certified birth doula and loves supporting families through their childbirth journeys.
When she’s not wearing her therapist or doula hats, you can find her attending one of her children’s (many) sporting events, listening to true crime podcasts, caffeinating, or singing 90’s and early 2000’s Hip-Hop/R&B.
