Meet Sofia, a passionate professional with extensive experience and
expertise in the field of Osteopathy. Sofia graduated with a Degree in
Medical Surgery from the University of Zulia, in Venezuela, and also has
a Diploma in Osteopathy from the School of Madrid (EOM) in Spain. Sofia
is a firm-believer in continued education and prides herself on
providing exceptional care to her patients.
With a diverse background as a Medical Surgeon and Physical Therapist in
Venezuela, Sofia brings a comprehensive understanding of healthcare
practices from various perspectives.
Having worked in the Public Health System, private, and industrial
healthcare systems in Venezuela for 30 years, she has advised patients
on preventive and primary healthcare and facilitated comprehensive
physical rehabilitation through osteopathy, physiotherapy, and postural
re-education, aiming to create positive lifestyle changes for her
patients.
Since 2021, Sofia has been practicing as an Osteopathic Manual
Practitioner in Ottawa, Canada, where she has been warmly welcomed and
integrated into the community. She takes great pride in offering
personalized and one-on-one care, ensuring that each patient receives
the attention they deserve.
Sofia’s approach to Osteopathy is rooted in the European-style, which
emphasizes a holistic and comprehensive perspective. She believes in the
constant interaction and interrelation of every structure in the body,
with each playing a vital role in its functions and processes. Her
treatments are non-invasive and prioritize prevention and restoring
balance in the body. Sofia utilizes various soft tissue techniques,
including Myofacial release, cranial, visceral, and osteoarticular
techniques, as well as joint mobilization.

Sofia’s care. She is an accredited member in good standing of the
College of Canadian Osteopathy (CCO), the Canadian Alliance for
Alternative Medicine (ACMA), and the International Osteopathic
